Wall + Threshold
Expressed here is the idea of an expansive large void (the open field) being transformed into vertical pockets of void (similar to ones in between the trees) and the juxtaposition of horizontal vs. vertical. The experience after being drawn towards the tall fins jutting out of the ground, is a movement down the stairs through the elongated space. Where the stairs lead up and out, the visitor is presented with adjacent usable spaces which draws people in due to a series of arches decreasing in height, hinting of something beyond. Moving up the stairs, the increasingly higher arches prepares the visitor for the vertical forest.
